Purposeful Breaths

As I have time on my hands I have been questioning myself on how I mundanely pass through everyday. The following has been on my mind. How I can ensure that everyday is filled with purposeful breaths? That my life is packed with meaning and substance? Certainly these questions brings me to my knees and before the Lord, although admittedly it is still rushed and far too irreverent for the Holy.

Obviously I have not gotten this far in life without coping with these issues, but now they seem to come fresh and with new fervency to my mind, begging that I readdress them with more careful consideration. These questions cannot be overlooked, brushed aside, or considered too lofty and unanswerable. No, I am thoroughly convinced in myself that to say I cannot answer them and hash out practical applicable steps to take is an unacceptable option for me.

Purposeful breaths result from slowing oneself down enough to hear one's own short and shallow breaths and to realize again that we constantly stand in the presence of the Holy Lord. From there, the Lord may direct the frail human soul to joy, peace, warmth, renewed dedication, direction, and the all important repentance.

Until further thoughts come, I know this much is true...to practice the presence of living with the Holy is meaningful in itself and not wasted breath.
